Q. Can guests rent a golf cart to use during their stay?
A.
Yes. You’re welcome to rent a golf cart from any vendor you wish and charge it at the rental house during your stay. Two golf cart rental companies we commonly recommended are as follows, however who you contract your golf cart from is entirely up to you as Destin Sunshine Vacation Rentals has no affiliation whatsoever with any cart companies. Hot tip: Cart rates can be negotiable in non-summer months when their fleet might not be fully booked.

Q. Who do we make checks payable to?
A. Checks should be made payable to Nicole Camargo.  Destin Sunshine Vacation Rentals is just the name of our website. Please do not make checks out to Destin Sunshine Vacation Rentals as we cannot deposit them.

Q. How far are the homes from the Beach?
A. Our homes are 3 short blocks from our driveway to the sand. However none of them are directly ocean front.

Q. What time zone is Destin?
A. Central Standard Time (CST)

Q. Can I park on the street in front of the rental house?
A. No. Only driveway parking is allowed in the neighborhood. All cars must be pulled into the driveway.

Q. Are amenities such as soap, toilet paper, and garbage bags provided?
A. No. Upon arrival we will provide you with 1 small soap per shower, 1 sponge, 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 paper towel roll, 1 liner per trash can, and 1 single use dishwasher soap. Please bring your own supplies including trash bags, paper towels, laundry soap, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent, hand soaps, dish soap, and any other supplies you’ll need for your stay. Note that we do have plenty of coffee filters at the house for your use.

Q. Do you provide bed sheets and indoor bathroom towels?
A. Yes. But please bring your own pool/beach towels as pool and beach towels are not provided. We do provide kitchen (dish) towels and hot pads as well. We do not provide sheets for the two pack-n-plays per house. If you plan to utilize those, please bring along your own pack-n-play sheets for the little ones in your group.

Q. How close are we to a grocery store?
A. Destin has a Publix, Fresh Market, Whole Foods, Winn Dixie, Target, and Walmart. These are all within a 2-7 miles of our homes.  There is a CVS within 1 mile of our homes. Note that the Destin Walmart offers grocery delivery (for $9.95) as well as curbside pick up (no charge) if you’d like to place your supply + grocery order online in advance and avoid the crowds when you arrive into town.

Q. Do our homes have private pools?
A. YES!! All of our vacation homes have private pools and private, fenced-in backyards.

Q. Are any of our pools heated?
A. Yes! All of our pools can be heated upon request however this is a separate charge and is not included in the rate.

Q. Is our coffee pot a keurig or regular one?
A. It is a regular one, not a k-cup one.

Q. Do we have box fans at our homes?
A. Yes. There are two box fans at the home.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept personal checks or cashiers checks as our preferred method of payment.  We also accept Venmo and credit card payments but note that Paypal will charge you a fee of 2.9% to process it.

Q. When will you receive your refundable damage deposit back after you leave?
A. Assuming the property is left in the same condition as when you arrived, you will receive your refundable damage deposit back within 7 business days of checking out.  Typically we refund these on the Monday after you depart.

Q. Do I need to take care of the pool?
A. No. We’ll take care of that for you!

Q. How deep are the pools?
A. All our private pools are 3 feet at the shallow end and 5 to 6 feet (depending on the house) at the deep end. None of our pools have diving boards or slides.

Q. Is the grill gas or charcoal?
A.  The grill is gas and we’ll supply all your propane during your stay.

Q. When is your second payment due?
A. Payment in full is due 40 days before the date of your check in.

Q. What amount is due for the first payment?
A. To reserve your spot we collect 50% of the rate. The remaining balance is due 40 days before you arrive.

Q. Will my damage deposit be debited if the smokers in my group discard their cigarette butts in the yard?
A. Yes. We will debit your damage deposit $1 per butt found in the pine straw after you leave. It might seem petty but over time the yard really begins to look trashy if guests don’t discard them in the ash tray where they belong. At its worst we’ve needed to pick up dozens of butts all around the pool deck. Smoking outside or on the porches is fine with us- but please no littering.

Q. Do your homes have hair dyers?
A.  Yes. We have basic hair dryers in all bathrooms of our homes.

Q. Can I purchase traveler’s insurance on my stay?
A. Yes. Feel free to purchase traveler’s insurance from anywhere you’d like to! We highly recommend this! If you are prevented from taking your trip because of a covered reason, such as a sickness or injury of yourself or a family member, Travel Protection can help reimburse 100% of your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs that you would otherwise lose when you cancel or leave early. Destin Sunshine Vacation Rentals is not responsible for reimbursement of your trip costs due to cancellation nor early departure under any circumstances including natural disaster.
